A crash on US-65 in Hollister left one person dead and four others injured, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at about 3:55 p.m. on August 22, 2026, in Taney County.

The Highway Patrol's online crash report, filed under incident number 260356212 and investigated by Troop D, states that a southbound 2022 Ford Explorer and a northbound 2009 Chevrolet HHR were involved in the crash.

Authorities identified the fatality as a 69-year-old woman from Branson, who was driving one of the vehicles and was transported for medical treatment before succumbing to her injuries. A 34-year-old man from Hollister, who was driving the other vehicle, and a 35-year-old woman also from Hollister sustained serious injuries and were taken for medical care, the Patrol reported. Two juvenile occupants suffered minor injuries and were also transported for treatment, according to the report.

In total, the crash resulted in four injuries and one death across the two vehicles, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. The circumstances leading up to the collision have not been detailed in the preliminary report.
