Officials identified 91-year-old Ruifang Wang who died after an auto-pedestrian crash in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 91-year-old Ruifang Wang as the man who died of injuries he suffered after being struck by a truck Wednesday night in Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on Acklen Park Drive. The early reports showed that 91-year-old Ruifang Wang was hit by a Toyota Tundra while trying to cross Acklen Park Drive. A witness at the scene informed the officers that the driver of the truck, 31-year-old Christopher Watts, came to a stop, then tried to turn and hit Wang.

On arrival, medical personnel rushed Wang to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning. Officials believe that impairment did not play a factor in the accident. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
