Officials identified 78-year-old Victor Coutee Jr. who died after a two-vehicle crash (Rapides Parish, LA)

Officials identified 78-year-old Victor Coutee Jr., of Alexandria, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle crash in Rapides Parish.

The investigation reports showed that on Monday, at around 3:30 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E actively responded to the area of Louisiana Highway 1 near Cheri Street on reports of a two-vehicle accident. This crash took the life of 78-year-old Victor Coutee Jr. of Alexandria.

The reports also revealed that Coutee was driving a 2021 KIA Sorento while heading southbound on Louisiana Highway 1 when, for unknown reasons, Coutee failed to yield to a northbound John Deere Combine (Tractor) that was blocking the southbound travel lane with a large agricultural implement.

Just then, Coutee’s car collided head-on with the implement. Coutee, who was wearing a seatbelt at that time, suffered major injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the John Deere Combine remained unharmed in the accident. Toxicology samples were taken and sent for analysis.

An investigation is ongoing.
