Authorities identified 77-year-old James Corbin, from Gilmer, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident that happened on March 31 in Smith County.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place near the intersection of State Highway 155 and Interstate 20, approximately three miles south of Winona at around 3:42 p.m. The investigation reports showed that James Corbin was driving a 2007 Honda motorcycle north on SH 155. At that point of time, 56-year-old Ramiro Rodriguez, of Longview, was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram pickup east on the I-20 service road.

The reports also revealed that Rodriguez failed to yield the right of way at an intersection controlled by a stop sign, and Corbin’s motorcycle hit the pickup in the side. Corbin was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No other details are available.
