Officials identified 73-year-old Joe Gorman who died after a motorcycle crash in Fredericksburg (Fredericksburg, TX)

Authorities identified 73-year-old Joe Gorman, of Austin, as the man who was killed after a crash Monday in Fredericksburg.

The fatal motorcycle accident took place in the 5500 block of South State Highway 16, near the intersection with Leyendecker Road. On Monday, April 18, at around 9:29 a.m., Gillespie County deputies immediately responded to the scene on reports of a motorcycle crash.

The investigation reports showed that Joe Gorman was traveling southbound and was on his way to Kerrville for an appointment when he was ejected from his motorcycle. Gorman received aid at the scene by Fredericksburg Fire & EMS before being rushed to University Hospital in San Antonio. Gorman succumbed to his injuries at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
