Officials identified 69-year-old Karen Wilt Free who died after a two-vehicle crash in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 69-year-old Karen Wilt Free as the woman who lost her life following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in Nashville.

The fatal car crash took place at 10:45 a.m. on Whites Creek Pike near Sycamore Creek Road. According to the investigation reports, the Nissan Sentra, driven by Karen Wilt Free, crashed into another car on Whites Creek Pike. Reports showed that the woman was traveling north on Whites Creek Pike when her vehicle went into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a southbound Jeep Cherokee.

The woman was not buckled up at the time of the accident. She suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the Jeep was wearing her seatbelt and remained unharmed. There was no sign of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene. No further details were provided.

An investigation continues.
