Officials identified 68-year-old Barry Wooten who died following a single-vehicle crash on I-475 (Bolingbroke, GA)

Authorities identified 68-year-old Barry Wooten, a Monroe County man, who died of injuries he sustained in a crash that happened on late Tuesday.

The investigation reports showed that the pickup truck Wooten was driving veered off Interstate 475 near Bolingbroke for reasons that are under investigation and slammed into a tree. Monroe sheriff’s officials said on Wednesday that the victim, Barry Wooten, a Forsyth resident, had been driving a Ford F-150 northbound on the freeway near the Bolingbroke exit at around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday when the fatal single-vehicle crash occurred.

Reports further revealed that Wooten, who was traveling alone, was rushed via ambulance to a Macon hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
