Officials identified 66-year-old David Vinci who died after a motorcycle crash in Corona (Corona, CA)

Authorities identified 66-year-old David Vinci, of Menifee, as the man who lost his life following a single-vehicle accident early Monday morning on Interstate 15 in Corona.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place just south of the Magnolia Avenue exit just after 4 a.m. On arrival, responders found a downed motorcyclist and AMR medics found out that the man had already died of his injuries at the scene. Reports further added that the man was declared dead at 4:19 a.m.

According to the investigation reports, the rider drifted off the left roadway edge of the I-15 northbound off-ramp to Magnolia Avenue and crashed into a traffic sign. The force of the collision threw the man from his bike. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and drug intoxication or a possible medical episode played as factors in the deadly accident. No other details are made available.

An investigation is ongoing.
