Officials identified 64-year-old Sandra Flowers as the woman who lost her life after being hit by a vehicle late Saturday night in West Compton.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run collision took place at about 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that Sandra Flowers, of Compton, was reportedly crossing Avalon in the middle of the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
Flowers was declared dead by first responders at about 11:45 p.m. Authorities have not provided any description regarding the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
