Officials identified 62-year-old Charles Harter who died after a motorcycle crash in Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

Officials identified 62-year-old Charles Harter who was killed after a motorcycle crash Monday night on Tucson’s northwest side.

The investigation reports showed that on Oct. 11 before 7:30 p.m., Pima County Sheriff’s deputies actively responded to the area of Curtis Road and Carapan Avenue, near North Shannon Road on reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a tow truck.

The reports further revealed that the tow-truck driver was backing a flatbed tow-truck into a driveway when 62-year-old Charles Harter tried to go behind the truck on his motorcycle, hitting the rear tow bar. Harter was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. Impairment was not involved in the collision. The tow truck driver, on the other hand, stayed at the scene after the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
