Officials identified 56-year-old Benedict Biegler who died after a multi-vehicle accident on SR-240 (Richland, WA)

Authorities identified 56-year-old Benedict Biegler, of Yakima, as the man who was killed following a multi-vehicle wreck Thursday on State Route 240.

The fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place at around 6:12 a.m. near milepost 26. According to the investigation reports, an eastbound truck went over the centerline and collided with two vehicles.

The truck’s passenger, Benedict Biegler, died of his injuries after the collision. Medical personnel transported the driver of the truck and other passenger, along with the drivers of the other two vehicles to local hospitals in unknown condition. No other details are made available.

An investigation is continuing.
