Officials identified 52-year-old Ana Hernandez Islas who died after a crash on I-5 in Bellingham (Bellingham, WA)

Authorities identified 52-year-old Ana Hernandez Islas, as the Mount Vernon woman, who lost her life following a multi-vehicle wreck Tuesday night on I-5 in Bellingham.

According to the investigation reports, Ana Hernandez Islas was traveling south a little before 11 p.m. when she failed to maintain control of her vehicle near the Sunset exit and struck the left shoulder barrier.

After that, the woman exited her vehicle and was hit by cars driven by a Bellingham man and a woman from Port Angeles. A fourth driver veered to avoid debris from the wreck and also struck the left barrier. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be involved in the accident.

An investigation continues.
