Officials identified 50-year-old Daniel Wesley Duncan, of Lithia Springs, as the man who lost his life while his passenger, identified as 51-year-old Penny Lynn Duncan, was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Dawson County on Sunday.
The investigation reports showed that the Daniel Wesley Duncan, 50, was driving a motorcycle while heading north on State Route 400 when he allegedly drove around multiple vehicles stopped for a red light at Quill Drive.
The reports further revealed that the motorcycle kept on going through a gore area on SR 400 and into the intersection of Quill Drive where it collided with a Volkswagen Passat. The incident took place when Volkswagen was attempting to make left turn from SR 400 South from Quill Drive.
Both Duncan and his passenger, Penny Lynn Duncan, 51, of Lithia Springs, were ejected from the motorbike due to the impact. Penny Duncan received serious injuries while the driver of the Volkswagen, Julia Bondeson, 21, of Suwanee, incurred minor injuries. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
