Authorities identified 41-year-old Shawn C George, of Deville, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on January 23 in Rapides Parish.
As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place on Hwy 115, south of Hwy 1207. The early reports indicated that Shawn C George was riding a bicycle northbound on Hwy 115, when he got struck by a northbound 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck.
George suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Routine toxicology tests are pending. No additional information has been provided by the authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
