Officials identified 41-year-old Edwin Jones who died after a semi-truck crash in northeast Nevada (Wells, NV)

Authorities identified 41-year-old Edwin Jones, of Cincinnati, Ohio, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on Feb. 8 in northeast Nevada.

The fatal semi-truck crash took place on Interstate 80, approximately 2 miles east of Wells in northeast Nevada. According to the investigation reports, Edwin Jones was driving a 2021 Kenworth tractor-trailer west on Interstate 80 when it smashed into the trailer of another tractor-trailer that was on the right shoulder.

The trailer from the disabled vehicle was partially on the highway. Jones was ejected from the truck as he was not buckled up at the time of the collision. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officials shut down westbound I-80 in the area for several hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are made available.

An investigation continues.
