Authorities identified 39-year-old Shahriar Shawn Khodadadi, of Santa Monica, CA as one of three people killed inside the Toyota pickup truck involved in a wrong way crash Monday night on I-15.
The identities of the other two victims inside the truck still remain unknown. Khodadadi’s cause of death is still pending. The driver of the Cadillac was identified Tuesday by the authorities as Erica Marie Morell, 37, of Henderson. Morell died from blunt force trauma due to the multi-vehicle pile-up.
The preliminary reports showed that a Cadillac driven by Morell was traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-15, south of Sloan, on the outskirts of the Las Vegas valley, when her car crashed head-on into the Toyota, causing it to catch fire. All three occupants inside the truck died in the accident. A total of four people died in this crash.
The wreck took place at about 6 p.m. Monday and ended up involving a total of six vehicles. Two people in other vehicles were taken to the hospital with injuries and are expected to be okay. Evidence was found that suggested that alcohol may have been involved in the crash. No other details are available.
An investigation is continuing.
