Officials identified 37-year-old Javier Eduardo Canchola who died after a pedestrian crash in north Austin (Austin, TX)

Authorities identified 37-year-old Javier Eduardo Canchola as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on March 14 in north Austin.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash was reported at about 11:47 p.m. in the 13000 block of northbound I-35, which is near Parmer Lane. According to the investigation reports, the man was trying to run across the highway when he was struck.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed Javier Eduardo Canchola to Round Rock Medical Center where he was declared dead at 12:26 a.m. on March 15. The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene cooperated with the officials. No further details were provided.

An investigation continues.
