Officials identified 35-year-old Jack Holder who died after being hit by a vehicle in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

Authorities identified 35-year-old Jack Holder as the man who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Long Beach.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 7:35 a.m. on the 710 Freeway. The preliminary reports showed that Holder was on the freeway when he was hit by a pickup truck. Jack Holder died of his injuries at the scene.

The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Impairment was not a factor in the accident. It is unknown why the pedestrian was on the freeway. No additional details are available.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
