Authorities identified 30-year-old Johnathen Piedra, of SeaTac, as the man who lost his life following a rollover crash on Jan. 29 in South Hill.
The fatal single-vehicle accident took place near the 15200 block of 91st Avenue Court East at around 6:55 p.m. near the junction of 152nd Street East and 92nd Avenue East. According to the investigation reports, the pickup truck swerved off the road for undetermined reasons. Then, the truck flipped and came to a stop on its passenger side approximately 25 feet from where it hit the mailbox and boulder in front of 9220 152nd St. E.
The front end and passenger compartment of the truck was badly damaged in the accident. Officials believe that the truck was going at a high rate of speed when it went off the roadway and hit the boulder. Piedra suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the officials. He was the sole occupant of the truck. The cause and manner of Piedra’s death are pending. No other details are made available.
An investigation continues.
