Officials identified 28-year-old Michael Ray Blansett who died after a single-vehicle crash in Hephzibah (Hephzibah, GA)

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office identified 28-year-old Michael Ray Blansett as the man who was killed after a single-vehicle crash in Hephzibah on early Monday morning.

As per the initial information, authorities actively responded to the area of the 1500 block of Clark Road at 5:47 a.m. on reports of a solo-vehicle accident with a fatality. The Coroner’s Office confirmed that Michael Ray Blansett, 28, was driving his 2004 Jeep Liberty south on the 1500 block of Clark Road. For unknown reasons, Blansett failed to maintain control of his vehicle, crossed the northbound lane and rammed into a tree.

Blansett was declared deceased on the scene at 6:50 a.m., according to the Coroner’s Office. Clark Road was closed down from Hephzibah McBean Road to east of the crash scene on Clark Road. Drivers were urged to take an alternate route. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
