Officials identified 27-year-old Angel Ray Reyes who died after a solo-vehicle crash on Northwest Side (San Antonio, TX)

Officials identified 27-year-old Angel Ray Reyes as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision Wednesday morning on the Northwest Side.

The fatal single-vehicle accident took place just before 1:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Callaghan Road, south of Ingram Road. The preliminary reports showed that Reyes was driving his truck southbound on Callaghan when he lost control of the vehicle and hydroplaned. The truck then veered into the northbound lanes and crashed into a pole.

Angel Ray Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. According to the authorities, he suffered head trauma. A male passenger in the truck was transported to University Hospital in stable condition. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
