Officials identified 25-year-old Michael Jacobs who died after a crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway (San Diego, CA)

On Thursday, The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified 25-year-old Michael Jacobs as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday on the San Diego (405) Freeway.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on the southbound freeway. Jacobs was injured at around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday near Vermont Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not known if the driver involved remained at the scene or not after the crash. Several lanes of the freeway were blocked while crews worked at the scene. No other details have been provided by the authorities.

An investigation is continuing.
