Officials identified 22-year-old Jesus Adrian Alvarado who died after being hit by a vehicle in Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)

Officials identified 22-year-old Jesus Adrian Alvarado, of Mission, as the victim who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Edinburg.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on U.S. 281. The early reports showed that at about 9 PM, a pick-up truck was heading north on U.S. 281 evading U.S. Border Patrol. At some point of time, the driver of the pick-up lost control, entered the center median and came to a rest.

All passengers of the truck then came out of the vehicle. Alvarado, who was in the pick-up truck, was then hit by another vehicle that was also going northbound. The 22-year-old died at the scene. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
