Officials identified 18-year-old Ethan Kronz who died after a pedestrian accident on West Route 66 (Flagstaff, AZ)

Authorities identified 18-year-old Ethan Kronz as the man who was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning on West Route 66.

The fatal pedestrian accident took place at about 5 a.m. on West Route 66 and South Milton Road in Flagstaff. According to the reports, a car struck Kronz for unknown reasons. On arrival, medics transported him to Flagstaff Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and tried to help Kronz before the arrival of responders. It is unknown if the driver will face any criminal charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
