Authorities identified 16-year-old Aaliyah Marie Martinez as the woman who lost her life following a single-vehicle accident on Oct. 4.
According to the investigation reports, Marie Martinez was driving a 2004 Honda CRV southbound at about 8:45 p.m. over the edge of the US 183 flyover at State Highway 45. At some point, she failed to maintain control of her car and hit the concrete wall.
The impact of the collision caused her vehicle to flip over and fall onto the roadway below. On arrival, emergency crews rushed Martinez to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on the following day.
An investigation continues.
