Authorities identified 12-year-old Brandon Rodriguez who lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle Monday night in Indio.
The fatal hit-and-run collision happened at about 10:35 p.m. on Jefferson Street and Miles Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that the teenager walked in front of a vehicle and got struck. The vehicle fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
On arrival, first responders rushed the victim to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No details are available regarding the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle. No further information has been provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
