Report body

A tanker truck hauling ammonium nitrate overturned on Lake Trail Road in Morgan County, according to Gravois Fire Protection District Chief Dustin Hancock. The crash happened around 7 p.m. on July 12 and involved a single vehicle.

Hancock said the tanker did not leak or spill any of its ammonium nitrate cargo despite tipping over. The absence of a spill allowed crews to focus on stabilizing the vehicle and securing the scene rather than managing a hazardous materials release.

Several agencies responded to assist at the site, Hancock said, though specific responding units beyond the Gravois Fire Protection District were not detailed. No information on injuries has been released.

The cause of the rollover has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear how long the roadway was affected while crews worked to clear the tanker. Authorities have not indicated whether any additional inspections of the vehicle or its cargo were required following the incident.

This report will be updated as officials release more information.
