No one onboard survived after a plane crashes in El Cajon-area neighborhood (El Cajon, CA)

On late Monday, a plane crashed in the El Cajon neighborhood of Bostonia that resulted in a trail of fiery wreckage scattered in front of homes.

As per the initial information, the tragic incident took place shortly after 7 p.m. near the intersection of the 1200 block of Pepper Dr. and N. Mollison Ave. in El Cajon. The early reports showed that the plane that crashed was a Learjet that was scheduled to land at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, though it was not known where it was coming from or how many people were on board at that time.

Firefighters were not able to find any potential victims in the crash. Reports further mentioned that no injuries were reported by residents or anyone on the ground. According to the officials, the crash threw debris across Pepper Dr, causing damage to least one home and one vehicle. There was a trail of flames along the street in the neighborhood.

Power lines in the area were knocked down as a result of the crash which affected more than 600 customers in the area. By 11:30 p.m., almost 70 customers stayed without power. The American Red Cross was planned to arrive Tuesday and provide assistance to residents who were still impacted by the power outage. Reports added that rain was reported in the county during the time of the crash, but it was not clear if the weather was a factor. No other details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
