According to the police, 5 migrants were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries following a hit-and-run accident.
The El Paso Police stated that the driver of an SUV crashed straight into Como’s Italian Restaurant on Mesa and Waymore on Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 7 p.m.
The police reported that the driver lost control and caused the collision.
Special traffic investigators were called when the driver fled the scene on foot. He was later caught by the investigating officers.
According to the police, the driver will face several charges including fleeing on foot, human smuggling and evading arrest.
