A 47-year-old Roach resident suffered serious injuries early Thursday after losing control of a motorcycle on Irontown Dr. north of Tick Lane in Camden County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 12:30 a.m., the patrol said. The rider was operating a 2001 Harley Davidson Sportster when they swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

The driver was seriously hurt in the crash, according to KMIZ. No other injuries or fatalities were reported.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
