Minor injuries reported after a single-vehicle crash in Sandy Springs (Sandy Springs, GA)

On Thursday night, a traffic accident in Sandy Springs led to minor injuries.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 8:40 p.m. by Northside Drive. The preliminary investigation indicated that the collision caused a large concrete pole to come down across the highway. The incident led to only minor injuries, but it is unknown how many victims in total were involved in the accident.

Officials have not confirmed if anyone was injured by the toppled pole. Reports further added that responders inspected the pole that appeared to have crashed onto a guardrail.  The pole was shattered along multiple lanes. All westbound lanes along this portion of Interstate 285 were shut down as of 9 PM. About half an hour later, crews were able to reopen two lanes and were working to clean up the roadway. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
