Two people lost their lives after a vehicle crashed into an open drain Thursday in Maricopa.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place on White and Parker Road. The early reports showed that the pair were traveling north on White and Parker Road when the driver veered across the southbound lanes just north of Farrell Road and went into a culvert or an open drain. The SUV came to a stop on its side.
On arrival, emergency responders attempted to revive the two, but they were later declared dead. It is unknown what caused the driver to drift into the other lanes. No other details are provided by the authorities.
The crash remains under review.
