Man seriously injured after a bicycle accident near Zeeland (Zeeland Township, MI)

On Wednesday, a man suffered injuries following a two-vehicle collision near Zeeland.

As per the initial information, the bicycle accident took place at about 1:40 p.m. on 88th Avenue and Gordon Street in Zeeland Township. The preliminary reports revealed that an SUV westbound on Gordon Street had stopped at the stop sign.

As the driver started to turn, the vehicle hit the bicyclist who was crossing Gordon Street. The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Zeeland, informed the officers that she failed to see the bicyclist. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the rider, a 21-year-old man from Zeeland, to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials said that his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The woman remained unharmed in the accident. No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
