On Thursday night, the California Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian crash that claimed a life. The crash happened west of Mission Center Road around 11:20 p.m.
According to the investigators, a tan Nissan pickup truck hit a man who was walking in the westbound lanes of I-8.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 71-year-old San Diego man, was not hurt, and he remained at the scene for further investigation.
Multiple lanes of I-8 were closed following the crash.
The crash is being investigated.
