A male pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a vehicle driven by a woman under the influence in Spokane.
The fatal auto-pedestrian crash was reported at around 6 p.m. on East Sprague. On arrival, emergency responders performed CPR on the victim until EMS got there. The man was later declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver, 47-year-old Jaguar Pierre, remained at the scene after hitting the man.
Pierre displayed signs that she was under the influence and officers arrested her for vehicular homicide due to her being under the influence and a death resulting from the collision. Authorities closed East Sprague Avenue from South Myrtle Street to South Havana Street as crews worked at the scene. No further details were provided.
The crash remains under review.
