On Sunday afternoon, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 80.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on I-80, east of Willow Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed that a tow truck was preparing to drive away with a disabled vehicle on the freeway when a man driving a Toyota Rav-4 rear-ended the truck. Due to the impact, the man was ejected from the Toyota.
He suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The man was not buckled up at the time of the collision. The occupants of the tow truck incurred only minor injuries. No further details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
