Man injured after getting struck by an SUV in Chula Vista (Chula Vista, CA)

A man received injuries after getting hit by a vehicle early Wednesday in Chula Vista.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 8:35 a.m. on Third Avenue near Palomar Street. The early reports showed that the man was pushing a shopping cart holding wood pallets when he was struck by an SUV. The victim was believed to be homeless.

The man was immediately taken to the hospital to be treated for possible internal injuries that were not believed to be life threatening. He was reported in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the investigators.  The driver’s windshield was cracked and there was damage to the hood of the SUV due to the collision. No other information is available.

The incident remains under investigation.
