Man in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Riverside (Riverside, CA)

A man received critical injuries after getting struck by a vehicle Friday in Riverside.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 8:20 p.m. on Iowa Avenue and Blaine Street close to the UC Riverside campus. The early reports showed that a southbound 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 20-year-old Moreno Valley resident hit the man for unknown reasons.

On arrival, first responders rushed the victim to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition. The involved driver remained at the scene and was not harmed in the accident. No arrests have been made at this time. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
