On Monday, a man was hospitalized after he was driving erratically and hit parked cars, walls and other things in Vancouver.
As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place at about 10:20 a.m. The early reports revealed that a green truck was seen going erratically around Cascade Park and the Fred Meyer parking lot in the Chkalov area. Callers to 911 informed that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and often driving in the wrong direction.
Reports further added that pedestrians had to jump out of the way. In the 14100 block of SE McGillivray, the truck collided with a parked vehicle and then hit a light pole, went over the lanes and crashed into the first retaining wall. The driver continued traveling, smashed into another wall, another parked vehicle, crashed into a garage door and came to a stop after striking a house.
The man came out of the passenger side window and hid under the truck. He was detained and transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Once he is discharged from the hospital, officers said they would release his name. He will face DUII and multiple counts of hit-and-run. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
