Man hospitalized following a DUI crash in a Save Mart parking lot (Marysville, CA)

A man received injuries after a crash Thursday in a Save Mart parking lot while officials detained 36-year-old Heather Wood of Marysville for DUI.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision happened at around 3:07 p.m. on 828 J Street. The preliminary reports showed that Wood, who was then driving with three minors, backed her vehicle into the pedestrian while he was walking through the parking lot.

Wood then pulled forward and ran down the victim’s legs. On arrival, first responders transported the injured pedestrian to Rideout Hospital for treatment. Officers determined that Wood was twice the legal blood alcohol level at that time.

They booked her into the Yuba County Jail on charges of DUI causing injury and child endangerment. All the three children, who are all under 15, remained unharmed in the incident. Police released them to a parent. No other information is available.

An investigation is continuing.
