A man lost his life and two people received serious injuries following a wrong-way collision Sunday on the Northwest Side.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the 1100 block of Bandera Road, near Zachry Drive at 10:45 a.m. in response to a three-vehicle wreck. The early reports showed that a white van driven by a man was going westbound in the eastbound lanes of Bandera when the van hit two vehicles.
The driver of the van was unconscious at the scene and died while being taken to the hospital. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved received serious, but non-critical injuries. It is unknown why the man was traveling the wrong way. A toxicology report is pending to determine if alcohol or any controlled substance played a part in the crash. No other details are available.
The wreck remains under review.
