Man dead after his bicycle got struck by a hit-and-run motorist in north Houston (Houston, TX)

A man lost his life after his bicycle got struck by a hit-and-run motorist on early Saturday.

As per the initial information, authorities actively responded to the 8800 block of Ella Boulevard at about 3:22 a.m. after getting reports of a hit-and-run accident. On arrival, they found a man lying in a grass median. He was declared dead at the scene.

The early reports showed that the man was riding his bike northbound on an inside lane when an unknown vehicle hit him from behind and then left the scene. A short time later, another unknown vehicle hit his bicycle after it landed in the middle of a northbound inside lane. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
