Man dead after being hit twice on Northeast Side (San Antonio, TX)

On late Tuesday night, a man in his 30s lost his life after being struck by two vehicles on the city’s Northeast Side.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 10:20 p.m. on Walzem Road near Abby Place, not far from Eisenhauer Road and Montgomery Drive. The early reports showed that a male driver in his 30s was going in a 2-door Sedan northbound on Walzem Road when the vehicle hit a man who had run out into the street.

The man was struck again by a second vehicle and dragged approximately 30 feet, by a dark-colored SUV. The driver of the SUV left the scene and did not stop to render aid. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. At this time, it is unknown if any charges will be filed against the first driver. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
