A man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle early Thursday on Interstate 30.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to I-30, near St. Francis Avenue after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian collision at around 3:20 a.m. The early reports indicated that the man was struck by a white Dodge Charger.
The reports further said that the man crossed the westbound lanes of the highway and was trying to cross the eastbound lanes when he was hit. The man was declared dead by first responders. His identity remains undisclosed at this time.
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver. Officials are trying to find out if another vehicle struck the man before the Dodge Charger. The eastbound lanes were shut down at about 3:40 a.m., and traffic was rerouted to Jim Miller Road. The highway reopened about 7 a.m. Thursday. No other details are available.
