Man dead after being hit by a vehicle in East Palo Alto (East Palo Alto, CA)

A man lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle early Monday in East Palo Alto.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision was reported at around 5:09 a.m. on East Bayshore Road and Oakwood Drive. The early reports showed that a man wearing dark clothing was pushing a shopping cart in the southbound lane of traffic when a vehicle heading in the same direction struck him.

The male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No further details are available.

The incident remains under review.
