On Saturday night, a man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at approximately 8:45 p.m. on New Stine Road and Belle Terrace. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle hit a man already lying on the road. On arrival, emergency crews transported the victim to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officials believe that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.
