Man dead after an auto-pedestrian collision on Highway 101; Jesus Jimenez Hernandez arrested (Santa Rosa, CA)

On Saturday, a man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 101 while officers arrested 29-year-old Jesus Jimenez Hernandez for driving under the influence.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 4 a.m. on Highway 101, just south of River Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Pilot, driven by 29-year-old Jesus Jimenez Hernandez, hit a man while he was walking in the lanes of traffic.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Reports further added that Hernandez stopped and pulled to the right shoulder of the road after hitting the man. Officials found out that Hernandez was impaired during the accident and they arrested him for DUI. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is continuing.
