Man dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)

On Saturday, a man lost his life following an auto-pedestrian accident in New Orleans.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place shortly after 8 p.m. in the 12900 block of Chef Menteur Highway. The early reports showed that the man was walking in the exit lane of Interstate 510, going onto Chef Menteur Highway when a vehicle exiting I-510 hit him.

The car continued heading eastbound after the collision and driver did not stop to render aid. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Authorities have not provided any description of the hit-and-run vehicle. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under active review.
