On Tuesday morning, a man lost his life after his vehicle smashed into a concrete pillar on the North Side.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 6 a.m. on the southbound Highway 281 access road near Nakoma Drive. The early reports showed that the driver was traveling south on the access road when his truck swerved to the left for undetermined reasons and ran into the pillar.
The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The southbound access road was closed from Wurzbach Parkway to Nakoma as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
