On Friday morning, a man lost his life after a vehicle struck him and the scooter he was riding in east Austin.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place on East Seventh Street between Allen and Gunter Streets at about 2:30 a.m. The early reports showed that a vehicle crashed into a scooter for undetermined reasons.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene after the collision. No arrests have been made. Seventh Street was closed between Allen Street and Springdale Lane as crews worked at the scene. No further details were provided.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
